Training
Customer care is an important part of our officer training. By maintaining a high level of professionalism and courtesy, we recognise that our personnel can help to make a safe and friendly atmosphere and a pleasurable experience for customers.
Crown Security officers training programme includes both SITO and client-specific curricula. Most of the courses leading to NVQ security qualifications. New officers can receive supplementary training from senior security officers at a designated 'centre of excellence' store before taking up their posts. All training is carried out to conform to the private security act 2001 and is certificated by SITO (security industry training organisation) and complies with the BS7499 standard.
Our officers receive extensive training in a number of disciplines so that they are equipped to fulfil various roles on your site. Our Basic Job Training Induction Course is compulsory for all new employees. The syllabus of the Four-day programme is set out in the following modules:
- Roles and responsibilities of a security officer
- Assignment Instructions and associated documentation
- Health and Safety at Work etc Act l974
- Identification of would be offenders
- Customer care and social skills
- The retail security officer and the law
- Reporting, pocket books, statements and crime scenes
- Searching
- Patrols and patrolling technique
- Fire awareness
- Major incidents
- Equal opportunities and Discrimination issues
Security Managers can choose to send officers on a range of specialist in-service courses to improve their competency. We also design customised Development Training Courses for our clients to increase officers' expertise in particular areas. At the beginning of every contract, our consultants conduct a training audit to assess what courses the on-site staff has attended and what further training should take place. Accredited courses on offer include:
- Basic Job Training in Static & Patrol or Retail Security (SITO)
- Professional Security Officer Certificate (City & Guilds/SITO)
- Security Safety & Loss Prevention (NVQ Level 2)
- Security Management (NVQ Levels, 3 4 and 5)
